For nearly a decade, multi-talented actor Jaleel White delighted television audiences as America’s favorite nerd, Steve Urkel, on the hit sitcom "Family Matters."
Jaleel took what was originally a one-time guest appearance on the first-year TV series and created such a stir that he not
only became a permanent cast member, but went on to perform other unforgettable characters such as Myrtle Urkel, Steve’s southern belle cousin, and Stefan Urquelle, Steve’s suave alter-ego
White’s contribution to "Family Matters" was evident behind the scenes as well, as he wrote several episodes of the series and supplied story ideas for many others.
After appearing in 215 episodes of Family Matters and graduating from UCLA's film school, Jaleel White was a Producer of Grown Ups on UPN in 1999
Jaleel had a cameo appearance in the movie Big Fat Liar (2002), starring Frankie Muniz, Paul Giamatti, and Amanda Bynes
Jaleel White is working on a writing career and is developing several projects. He enjoys writing, basketball, snowboarding and is a self-proclaimed Fantasy Hoops addict.
